Doornpoort kids excited for Christmas drive-through

Various groups joined hands recently to deliver 750 packets of sweets to the children in the community.

Doornpoort residents received a sweet surprise from various groups that joined hands recently to deliver 750 packets of sweets to the children in the community.

The CPF and DNW Group have been doing the Christmas drive-through project as a way to unite and support the children during the festive season.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic, alternatives had to be found to lift the spirits of the children and get them excited for the Christmas event.

The Christmas drive boasted more than 80 cars on the road handing out sweets to the children in the community, while residents dressed up in various Christmas-themed attire.

A Christmas drive would not be complete without Santa Claus, who drove around in a vehicle decorated in a festive theme.

Organisers would like to give special thanks to the following: Sinoville SAPS, CPF, DNW, Proshield reaction security, Computer Alarms, Prosec and all the donors and residents who joined the convoy and met with Santa.
