End off the year with some Christmas events

There are almost only two weeks left for 2022 – make the most of them with these events.

Get that last minute stocking stuffing done, or just get into the festive spirit with these calendar stuffers.

Lawley Street lights, December 15

The spectacular Lawley Street lights are up again, dazzling visitors for the entire December from 19:00 to 23:00 every night. The legendary lights are best seen on foot, so a night time stroll must be on the cards this weekend.

This week only, the Danish embassy will be treating visitors to a special experience when the Sound of Soweto Choir will be performing in front of the Danish residence at 369 Lawley Street between 20:00 and 21:00. Danish cookies and traditional Danish Glogg will also be available.

Jakaranda Liggiesfees, December 16 and 17

Not sure what to do with the kids this weekend? Maybe the perfect outing is the Jakaranda children’s home Liggiefees, with a dazzling display of Christmas lights, over 20 different food stalls and entertainment with a synthetic skating rink, a double merry-go-round, a train and for those not on the naughty list, maybe even a photo with Santa.

What’s more, this weekend only, catch performances by Alida Luus and Danileigh. Proceeds and donations for this event will go to a special cause as the children’s home looks after 344 children. Your fun outing will help these children in need have a better festive season. Visit them in East Lynne this weekend. For more information: 082 416 7073.
