Tshwane mayor Randall Williams and his MMCs have embarked on a mayoral campaign to give gifts to nine early childhood development centres in all the regions of the city.
They have already distributed gifts in Hammanskraal, Mamelodi, Atteridgeville, Vathu Phanda and Tshegofatso Day Care centres in Amanda Park, Leeuwfontein and Pienaarspoort.

A total of 450 children will benefit from this spirit of giving and spreading Christmas cheer, according to the mayor.
“So far, we have been to four regions where we distributed hundreds of gifts to many young boys and girls bringing smiles to their faces. It’s touching to see children happy and smiling,” he said.
On Monday, November 12, MMC for environment and agriculture led the campaign and distributed gifts to over 100 kids.
“The City wants to make this a special Christmas for children in need, therefore various other MMCs will be deployed in the remaining regions to distribute gifts and spread Christmas cheer until December 14,” he said.

Last Friday, the mayor dressed up as Santa, handed out gifts to little ones from Batliseng day and night centre in Atteridgeville.
“Every child deserves a happy and memorable Christmas, so I want to call on businesses and civil society to open their hearts and reach out to the less- privileged during this season and spread the message of hope and love,” he said.
