Mawisa, friends donate sanitary pads to girls in Block B

“The campaign will continue to give sanitary pads when schools reopen for the next term,” Mawisa said.

A Soshanguve resident has donated sanitary pads to Kopa Dilalelo primary school.

Ofentse Mathope, also known as Mawisa donated the pads to the Mabopane block B primary school to celebrate a family event on March 24.

Artists Lerato Lamola, Ms. Amza, Tempt T, 012 Entertainment and Team R5 performed at the event.

Mawisa and his friends visited schools around Pretoria to distribute the sanitary pads.

“Being on your period alone is frustrating, so imagine not having sanitary pads and how that feels. Alone that puts a girl child in a difficult position,” Mawisa said.

The aim of this campaign is to support the girls that cannot afford sanitary towels.

During the event, children were motivated by Coach S and Miss Township semifinalist Ofentse Mohlala.

The late Vusi R5 and Pencil were some of the artists who endorsed this campaign.

“The campaign will continue to give sanitary pads when schools reopen for the next term,” Mawisa said.

“We hope to get sponsors and sanitary pads donations so that we can help other school children in Pretoria to avoid absenteeism and sicknesses that comes with using the wrong things.”
