Hunt on after man found tied up and murdered in Erasmia

There was no sign of forced entry and it could not be confirmed if anything else was stolen besides a vehicle, which was found abandoned.

Police are perusing several unknown suspects who tied up a 59-year-old man and murdered the victim before fleeing the scene.

The gruesome crime occurred in the early hours of Saturday, July 22, 2023, in Erasmia on the outskirts of Centurion, Tshwane.

His vehicle, a white Mercedes Benz, was reportedly found dumped on 19th Avenue in Laudium after the murder.

According to police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, “Police are on the lookout for suspects after a man was found murdered in his home in Erasmia earlier this morning.”

She said the preliminary reports were that the victim was discovered dead and his house ransacked.

“His hands were found tied behind.”

Nevhuhulwi said police were still investigating, however, there was no indication of forced entry at the man’s residence.

“At this stage, it cannot be confirmed if anything else was stolen besides the vehicle which has been recovered at Laudium area.”

She pleaded with anyone who had information that could assist the police to contact their nearest police station or the Crime Stop Line at 08600 10111.

She said anonymous tip-offs could also be reported on MySapsApp.

“All information received will be treated as strictly confidential.”
