Two days of fun and action at Tshwane 10s

The second Tshwane 10s tournament offered a weekend of top entertainment to visitors and participants at the Harlequins Sports Club in Pretoria.

Anyone who still wonders why the Tshwane 10s tournament is considered the largest outdoor party on Pretoria’s social calendar, was probably not near Harlequins sports club this weekend.

The second Tshwane 10s tournament has proved more than ever that this event is here to stay and that it will continue to attract thousands of Pretorians annually.

Although action netball and beach volleyball could not be part of the event due to technical reasons, there was still plenty of entertainment for both young and old while autograph hunters had a variety of celebrities to meet.

Besides all the sports stars, there were singers, actors and other entertainers who were part of the two days of fun.
A total of 130 teams were part of the action in the various sports codes.

Of course 10s rugby was the main attraction for participants with three rugby fields available for the action.

The participating teams in their colourfully designed outfits could also compete in dodgeball, five-a-side soccer and lawn bowls, while several individual games were also part of the programme.

In between the action, participants and other visitors could relax at the giant beer tent.

They were entertained by artists such as Anton Botha, Justin Serrao, Bok van Blerk and Francois van Coke.

Visitors partied until late on Friday and Saturday and with a big screen available many stayed to watch the late night test between the Springboks and Argentina.
