Table tennis leagues kick off

The official Gauteng North table tennis leagues for 2019 have started and interested players are invited to join clubs and share in the action.

It’s time for competitive table tennis again after the official Gauteng North table tennis league kicked off last week.

Although not a mainstream sport, interest in table tennis continues to grow. Apart from ensuring excellent cardio-vascular exercise for the entire body, table tennis is recognized for its ability to improve reaction time, concentration levels, blood circulation as well as coordination.

The Gauteng North table tennis league is hosted by the Gauteng-North Table Tennis Board (GNTTB).

During the 2018 season, six different clubs competed in three leagues, which were completed in two rounds each.

The Super League provides for experienced players as well as development players identified on their growth potential to represent the region on a national level.

The First and Second Leagues are ideal for players that have always felt they played a good game and would like to test their abilities against other like-minded players from the greater Tshwane area.

Although the leagues have already started, there is still opportunity for late entries in the Second league while several clubs in this league would like to hear from interested players who want to join their ranks.
