Samsra promotes fitness among employees

Govan Mbeki wins netball, tug of war and 1 500m run at games.

KINROSS – Govan Mbeki Municipality won the women’s netball, men’s tug of war and men’s 1 500m run at the provincial South African Municipal Sports and Recreation Association (Samsra) games that took place at the Sasol Club on 22 and 23 November.

The games were aimed at promoting inter-municipal relations, fitness, wellness and healthy living among municipal employees.

Municipalities that took part were the Gert Sibande District, Govan Mbeki, Msukaligwa, Victor Khanye, Mkhondo and Lekwa municipalities.

The tournament consisted of soccer, volleyball, netball, pool, athletics and tug of war.

Steve Tshwete Municipality did well in many of the codes.

Msukaligwa, Mkhondo and Lekwa municipalities did not win any of the sporting codes.
