Joey turns 80
The next Senior Citizens get together will be held at Bermuda Triangle restaurant on 2 April.
SECUNDA – Members from the local senior citizens club came together at Davies Court on 19 March to celebrate Ms Joey van der Walt’s 80th birthday.
Ms Van der Walt, who has reach her octogenarian milestone, was born in 1934 in Delmas and later moved with her family to Springs.
She got married and the couple ventured to River Ridge Estate where she has been living for the past 48 years.
Her husband died 20 years ago.
She thanked everyone who celebrated her birthday with her.
Mr Jan and Ms Marie Pretorius were congratulated on their wedding anniversary.
The couple, who met on a blind date and had spent their first date at the drive-in, is still happily married 48 years later.
The senior citizens’ lucky draw winner was Ms Addie Joubert.
Citizens are reminded about the next get together which will be held on 2 April at Bermuda Triangle Restaurant.
Mr Deon van Rooyen was thanked for hosting this outing and for his ongoing support to the senior citizens.
