Matrics apparently beat up staff member

Pupils run rampant at school.

SECUNDA – Matric pupils from Highveld Park High School apparently caused havoc and disrupted school on Thursday, 16 October.
According to a reliable source, about 20 pupils entered the school grounds at around 12pm and some had their faces covered.
“They ran to the classrooms where the other pupils were attending classes where they lit fire crackers and threw them inside the classrooms,” said the source.
“They opened the emergency extinguishers and also threw them inside the classrooms.
“The security guards at the school spoke to them nicely and asked them to stop, but they just carried on.”
These pupils allegedly also beat up one of the staff members.
They got inside a bus that was standing outside the school’s gate and left.
“These pupils came to school this morning as though nothing had happened and the security guards identified three of them and called the police.”
Secunda Police’s spokesman, Lt Bettina Zondo, confirmed the incident, but could not confirm whether the three pupils were arrested.
The principal of Highveld Park High School, Mr Dirk Venter did not want to comment.
