Taxi driver allegedly gets off, other motorist fined
Traffic officers allegedly let a taxi driver go for speeding because he needed the toilet.
A Standerton resident had an interesting run-in with traffic officers in Walter Sisulu Drive on 6 January.
According to him he was pulled off by traffic officers for speeding.
He stopped and was approached by an officer who asked for his driver’s licence.
“I had left my licence in my work bag and did not have it with me,” he said.
“When I was speaking to the officer a taxi driver was pulled over for allegedly speeding.”
According to him the taxi driver told the officer that he needed to go to the toilet.
The officer then apparently let the taxi driver go without a fine.
