Community takes matters into own hands

A community member has covered the open hole in Stanwest using his own resources.

Residents in Stanwest has fixed a road after the Lekwa Municipality dug a hole and left it open.

According to them the municipality dug a hole to fix electric cables after the electricity went off two years ago.

They said the municipality filled the hole with gravel twice, but the rain washed it away.

It is not visible when it rains because it fills with water.

Mr Sandeep Daya hired people and bought material, with his own resources, to cover the hole in Van Heerden Street, close to Stanwest Combined School.
