Bomb explodes at Trichardtsfontein Combined School (video)

Pupils wait outside school in Trichardt.

TRICHARDT – Pupils had to wait outside the gate at Trichardtsfontein Combined School after a bomb exploded in one of the classrooms on Sunday night.

A person passing by saw the classroom was in flames and contacted the police.

Members of the police, the bomb squad and the fire department were at the scene and extinguished the fire and searched the school grounds.

They found the materials used to make bombs on the school premises.

The fire was still smouldering yesterday morning and pupils and teachers waited for it to be safe before they went inside.

Nobody got injured and police are still investigating the case.
