Four vehicles collide at intersection
A total of four vehicles collided on 24 February.
Four vehicles were involved in an accident at the Beyers Naudé Drive and Baumann Street intersection on 24 February.
According to a statement from the Standerton Police, a minibus, that was travelling at a high speed, skipped the red robot.
It collided with three cars namely a Toyota Conquest, a Mercedes Benz and a BMW.
The minibus then overturned.
Five passengers, who were travelling in the minibus, sustained serious injuries, while five other people, including the driver, sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the the Mercedes Benz also sustained some injuries as well as the the BMW driver.
The driver of the Toyota Conquest was not harmed.
They were all taken to the Standerton Hospital and the driver of the Mercedes Benz was transferred to Mar-Peh Medi-Care.
“A case of reckless and negligent driving has been opened against the driver of the minibus,” Lt Fanie Nhlabathi, spokesman of the Standerton Police, said.
