Sakhile hosts Young Men’s Guild convention

Men give back to the community during the Young Men's Guild convention.

The Young Men’s Guild (YMG) of the Methodist Church held their annual convention at the Sakhile Stadium from 26 February to 1 March.

The convention was aimed at encouraging men spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically and financially.

It also focused on assisting men to become good role models in their communities.

This year’s theme was mentoring the next generation and branches from Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Swaziland attended.

They elected the new leadership on 26 February.

The members of the YMG had a Bible study session on 27 February and donated school uniforms to six different primary schools in Sakhile.

The uniforms, donated to less fortunate boys in each school, included shoes, trousers, shirts and jerseys.

An all night service was followed by a divine service the following day.

All the men who attended received a mandate to mentor other men in their communities.
