Trainees get help to save more lives

Trauma Sorg Academy held a week long accident scene training sesion at the Standerton Panel Beaters from 16 to 20 February.

Trauma Sorg Academy held a week long accident scene training session at the Standerton Panel Beaters recently.

The aim was to introduce new technology and new ways to rescue patients who are involved in car accidents.

The course was presented by Proethnos Services from Springs.

Members of the Govan Mbeki Fire Brigade, Standerton Fire Brigade and private ambulance services attended the course.

All the attendants were shown how to use the jaws of life correctly as to reduce time spent rescuing patients from a vehicle.

The less time spent on getting a trapped patient out of a vehicle, the quicker the patient can get medical attention.

“The training was a huge success and plenty of life saving information were gained by all,” said Ms Susan van der Heever of Trauma Sorg Academy.
