The Rooikoppen Taxi Rank that was upgraded at a cost of R10 million by the Lekwa Municipality, is in a bad state.

The Rooikoppen Taxi Rank that was upgraded at a cost of R10 million by the Lekwa Municipality, is in a bad state.

The windows of the toilets are broken, grass grows inside the toilets and some of the garage doors are removed.

The electric cables are also removed.

Sanco raised concerns about the taxi rank last year, and claimed that the municipality spent R10 million upgrading it and sold it for R100 000.

According to Mr Sipho Mkwanazi, Lekwa Municipality’s spokesman, he is still waiting for the report on the extent of the vandalism atthe taxi rank.
