Sanco plans to protest
Sanco had a consultation meeting with different organisations on 12 March about the fight against unemployment.
The South African National Civic Organisation (Sanco) requested different local organisations to join them in the fight against unemployment at a consultation meeting at the Lekwa Youth Club Centre in Sakhile on 12 March.
The organisations included the Taxi Association, Nafcoc, the PAC, Sanco Business and the Lekwa Youth and Women Club.
Sanco plans to picket at New Denmark Colliery from 24 to 26 March.
They want all companies within Standerton to prioritise local people when hiring.
They also want them to prioritise local businesses so as to improve the economy in Lekwa.
After the picketing Sanco plans to march to New Denmark Colliery on 27 March.
According to Mr Nicholas Selepe, Lekwa Sanco zonal convener, the community should benefit from the money that these companies make.
The PAC pledged their support saying they are with Sanco all the way in the fight against unemployment.
The Taxi Association also said they are fully behind Sanco in this initiative.
