Community project keeps school clean

A community programme cleans Igugulabasha Primary School.

Igugulabasha Primary School would like to thank the members of the Community Work Programme (CPW) for keeping the school clean.

They clean the toilets and wash windows in all the classrooms, as well as sweeping the floors of the foundation phase classes after school.

The members of the programme clean the school from Monday to Thursday.

According to Ms Sibongile Mthombeni, chairman of health and environment at Igugulabasha Primary School, the members are helpful.

“They are always willing to go the extra mile,” Ms Mthombeni said.

The school currently has one general worker who only cleans the administrative area.

“The general worker can not do all the work alone,” she also said.

The CWP is an initiative from government to provide jobs for unemployed people within the working age.
