Gert Sibande TVET College celebrates maths day

An engineering student of Gert Sibande College, Ms Thobeka Nkosi, participated in “Maths Day” that was organised by Isifisosethu Primary School on 8 May.

An engineering student of Gert Sibande College, Ms Thobeka Nkosi participated in “Maths Day” that was organised by Isifisosethu Primary School on 8 May.

According to the school principal, Mr Sazi Mazubane, the Department of Basic Education announced the event.

The school celebrated with mathematics-related activities for pupils.

Ms Nkosi is the best performing student in mathematics at the Standerton campus.

She was asked to motivate pupils to take up mathematics as part of future career prospects.

According to her, mathematics is not the key, but a weapon to success.

“Grade 1 is a foundation phase where everything we learn should be kept in mind,” Ms Nkosi said.
