Pupils receive shoes from Angel
School shoes were donated to two schools in Sakhile.
Ms Angel Khanyile, DA councillor, recently donated school shoes to schools in Sakhile.
She collected 15 pairs for both boys and girls for Thandeka Primary School and Madi Combined School.
Seven pairs were donated to Thandeka and eight pairs to Madi.
Ms Khanyile wants to donate school uniforms to disadvantaged pupils and is looking into registering a Non-Profitable Organisation (NPO) named True Butterfly.
The NPO will focus on providing sanitary towels to girls and providing school uniforms to needy children.
“I would like this NPO to bring hope to all the hopeless,” Ms Khanyile said.
She also said she is willing to begin small, but eventually wants to grow and reach more people.
“There are many poor people in our communities and children are mostly affected by poverty, so I want to lend a helping hand.”
