Transnet signs MOU with college
Students encouraged to look beyond Transnet employment.
Transnet and Gert Sibande TVET College signed a Memorandum of Understanding last Friday in a highly attended function at the Ermelo campus.
The agreement will see students with good academic results being absorbed by the rail company for their on job training with possible employment opportunities.
Lectures were not left out as they will also get an opportunity to be tutored about the latest engineering and technological improvements.
Deputy Minister of the Department of Public Enterprise Mr Bulelani Magwanishe applauded the initiative and also encouraged students not to only look at Transnet as the major employer but also consider using their skills to start businesses.
