Women from different churches in Sakhile gathered at the Social Centre to pray against drug abuse, especially nyaope.

The Lekwa Women’s Club organised this event on 27 August.

She also said the club wants to assist women and children in Sakhile.

“We want to help those who experience any form of abuse in their homes.”

According to her they will have more prayer events in the future about all the social ills in the community.

“This was our first event and we were pleased with the turnout.”

The five committee members of the club are Ms Tholakele Msimango (chairman), Ms Lindiwe Gama (deputy chairman), Ms Sonto Nkosi (secretary), Ms Gastina Mahlangu (deputy secretary) and Ms Dolly Mofokeng (treasurer).

This newly formed club aims to change people’s lives for the better.
