Residents are tired of the bad smell

The residents claimed sewage is flowing inside their yards into the street.

Residents in Taljaard Street in Sharpeville are tired of their persistent sewage problems for the past two years.

About four households have the same problem and the Lekwa Municipality fails to find solutions.

The residents claimed sewage is flowing inside their yards into the street.

They said the manholes in that area get blocked often.

According to them the municipality puts gravel on the sewage each time they report this issue.

“They use some white substance that looks like foam and pour gravel over it,” Mr Akhona Bushula, resident, said.
