Thank you for your assistance

Your actions expressed your solidarity to our initiative and your noble efforts have not gone unnoticed.

It has been said, ‘Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a step towards achieving something bigger and better than your current situation.’

In keeping with these profound words, my team and I would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to you for your invaluable assistance in helping us achieve our goal.

Your acts of kindness encouraged us to take every step of the 750km peace walk to promote peace, re-ignite unity among communities and help improve lives with the generous donations that were also received.

Our determined group of 16 participants commenced with the historic peace walk on 19 September at the Lenasia office of The Rising Sun and successfully completed the walk on an emotional note on Friday at the Mahatma Gandhi Settlement in Inanda, Durban.

To those who offered to accommodate our team, host us in the various towns and provide us with coverage of this historical event, we thank you.

Your actions expressed your solidarity to our initiative and your noble efforts have not gone unnoticed.

During the gruelling 14-day walk, our team experienced aches, discomfort and the excruciating pain on our shin bones and the blisters were our greatest challenge.

The scorching heat, rain, the different types of road surfaces and the traffic on the roads also contributed to making the walk seem impossible to complete at times.

However, the support we received from you and the various communities, motivated us to continue with our quest to promote peace and raise funds for the Gandhi Development Trust.

Thank you once again for partnering with us on this commendable project.
