Teachers celebrate at Stanwest Combined School

Teachers celebrated World Teachers Day at the Stanwest Combined School Hall on Friday, 16 October.

Local teachers from different schools came out in their numbers to celebrate the day.

The event is aimed at appreciating the vital contribution that teachers make to education and development across the globe.

The day is celebrated worldwide on 5 October annually.

It is said that teaching is the mother of all professions.

Mr Linda Dhlamini, Lekwa mayor, was also in attendance to appreciate the local teachers.

Some of them were awarded for their hard work and their contributions in different categories including sport, music and art.

A choir, made up of teachers from different schools, took to the stage and serenaded their fellow teachers.
