Concerned community members are livid about unattended filth next to their houses.
The Lekwa Municipality has put signs up, warning the community not to throw away any form of waste, but to rather wait for the weekly garbage trucks.
However, some choose to ignore the signs and dump their rubbish anywhere with potential health risks coming into play.
The Standerton Advertiser went to visit various sites in Sakhile and Standerton, finding no limit to the kinds of waste materials.
This included dead animals, used nappies and sanitary products.
Ms Makhazasi Radebe, HOD of Technical Services, urged residents to use the garbage trucks to dispose of waste, not empty plots and to report any offenders to the municipality.
Ms Suzelle Kemp of the Lekwa Clean Up Crew said people should all clean up after themselves and not expect the municipality to do everything.
