Planned electricity outage for Sakhile township

The electricity outage will mainly affect Sakhile residents on Wednesday, 7 June and Thursday 8 June.

The Lekwa Municipality issued a notice on 3 June about a planned electricity supply interruption.

It will mainly affect Sakhile residents on Wednesday, 7 June and Thursday 8 June due to the following reasons:

• The municipality will be replacing a mini sub-station and upgrading the Rooikoppen overhead 11 kv line.

• This operation is planned to take place between 8am and 5pm on each of the indicated days.

• It is expected to affect Wards 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 and 11.

Areas that might be affected are Mqhashi Section, Ext 2, Sphingo Section, Loss Section, Ext 3, Railway House, BJ Homes Section, Jabavu Section, Maroka Section, Phalama Section, Cross Roads, Simendeni Section, Thulani Section, Ext 1 and Rooikoppen.

The municipality apologised for any inconvenience that it may cause.
