WATCH: Bakkie catches fire between Trichardt and Charl Cilliers

The fire department and emergency services are on the scene.

According to reports, the motorist saw smoke coming from the dashboard of the bakkie and pulled over.

He was able to escape without injury.

He was travelling alone.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

The veld next to the road has also caught fire.

According to emergency services it is not yet clear whether fuel spilled from the bakkie or that the veld spontaneously caught fire.
