Former ANC councillor appears in Evander court, case postponed

Messrs Thamson Mqibelo Buthelezi, a former ANC councillor, and Chicco Ndlovu Khoza appeared in Evander Magistrate’s Court recently.

Mr Buthelezi was arrested on 19 February last year for allegedly selling stands illegally in eMbalenhle.

He apparently recruited Mr Khoza to work for him.

The Directorate of Priority Crime Investigation and Secunda Crime Intelligence launched an operation after they had received information from Crime Stop that people were selling stands illegally.

The case was postponed to 28 August for further investigation and for Mr Khoza to obtain legal representation.
