Mr Cassim Pochee (84), a lifetime resident of Standerton, passed away and a robbery could be the indirect result of it.
According to his daughter, Mr Pochee was sitting on his porch in front of his house in Stanwest at about noon and two unknown men attacked him.
He apparently fell over when one of the perpetrators choked him and they robbed him of his money.
His daughter heard the scuffle and ran outside, hitting them with a towel and they fled the scene.
A neighbour rushed to help him and his daughter.
