A man was arrested for possession of an illegal firearm in Mandela Section on Friday, 9 June.
This came after police received a tip off from locals that a man was walking around carrying a firearm.
They responded and confiscated a firearm and two bullets.
In another incident, the police recovered a firearm that was dumped at a tavern during a regular patrol.
Nobody was arrested.
Police commended the residents who gave them information.
The suspect will appear in the Evander Magistrate’s Court.
