Thatched lapa burns to the ground in Meyerville, cause of a veld fire

The cause of the fire that left a thatched lapa in Meyerville burnt to the ground on 20 June was because of a veld fire.

“I was at the side of the house and saw a lot of smoke,” Mr Tshepiso Mosia, owner’s son, said.

He phoned the fire brigade and Mr Goodman Magubane, a firefighter, heard the call.

Mr Magubane rushed to the address in Dannhauser Street to assist.
