Ext 6 residents block R23 road between Standerton and Johannesburg over jobs

Angry residents said they won't stop until they are given jobs

Residents of Ext 6 used rocks to close the R23 Road on 28 June about 12pm, demanding to be given work by Fountain Civil Engineering.

Fountain Civil Engineering is currently responsible for the upgrading on the road.

Community members forced the contractor’s truck to offload the rocks it was carrying.

According to the angry residents, the contractor hires people from outside of Standerton.
