Mr Thabo Mohoesi, accused 1, pleaded guilty in the Delmas High Court on 29 June to all the charges in the shooting and killing of Mr Bongani Nkumba, a traffic officer of Standerton.
The charges were murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, possession of an unlicensed firearm and illegal possession of ammunition.
Mr Nkumba was shot and killed, while on duty, on 5 August last year.
The charges against accused 2, Ms Palesa Letabane and accused 3, Mr Tshepo Masihle were withdrawn.
The accused were stopped by Mr Nkumba after a traffic violation.
