Organisation helps needy eMbalenhle children

“Some young women become vulnerable and make wrong decisions because they need some financial support.”

Nqubekela Phambili Corporation and Govan Mbeki Municipality will donate sanitary towels to needy local girls.

Though their main aim was to donate sanitary towels, they realised that some girls need more than just sanitary towels.

They also need toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap and underwear.

Various speakers will talk about different social ills in the community and the daily challenges that young people face.

Ms Busi Khumalo from Nqubekela Phambili said many young people struggle to make ends meet, especially child-headed families.

“Some young women become vulnerable and make wrong decisions because they need financial support,” said Ms Khumalo.

She said it is time that young women are taught about contraception.

People who would like to support the initiative, can make donations at Jeff Salon near the old Shoprite in Secunda, or at Thabo Salon near Ackermans in Secunda.

For more information, contact Ms Khumalo at 072 254 1022 or Ms Winnie at 079 322 8471.
