He was employed in August last year at the bank and transferred money from a client’s account to a fraudulent account without permission from the client.
A few days later, R40 000 was transferred to Radebe’s own private account.
A criminal case was opened and transferred to the Mpumalanga Hawks for further investigation.
During the investigation it became apparent that R700 000 was involved in the fraudulent transfers.
According to Maj Gen Mokoena, provincial head of the Mpumalanga Hawks, this succesful conviction and sentencing was a direct result of the diligent work done by Deputy W/O Sipho Patrick Nyathikazi who pursued the case without hesitation.
Maj Gen Mokoena further praised the judiciary for their consistent work towards eliminating offenders from the community by imposing fitting sentences on them.
