Vusi Adam Isaac Mahlangu (38) was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment for housebreaking in Secunda

He was out on bail when he committed a third housebreaking in August 2015.

Vusi Adam Isaac Mahlangu (38) was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment and received a five years suspended sentence for housebreaking in Secunda.

He was linked to a burglary in Kiaat Street in 2011 through the Local Criminal Record Centre’s support.

When Capt Bhagwandeen from Secunda Police Station responded to a burglary in progress in July 2015, he arrested Mahlangu.

He was out on bail when he committed a third housebreaking in August 2015.

When Capt M S Nkosi from eMbalenhle Police Station was on the scene, he met Mahlangu who then fled.

Mahlangu was on the wanted list after he failed to appear in court for his second burglary case.

Crime Intelligence helped the investigating officer, Sgt Thokozani Nyembe, to apprehend Mahlangu.

He finally received his sentence on Tuesday, 11 July.
