Swaziland man arrested for possession of dagga in Bethal

The suspect will appear at Bethal Magistrate court on charges of possession of dagga.

A 51-year-old Swazi foreign national was arrested for possession of dagga on the N17 highway between Bethal and Ermelo by members of the Secunda SAPS Flying Squad during a stop and search.

Const Sibeko from Secunda Flying Squad said: “While patrolling the highway, we spotted a blue Nissan Serena with Swazi registration plates and stopped it and requested to search it.

“The driver of the vehicle gave us permission.

“We found eight packets of compressed dagga and arrested the suspect for possession of dagga.”

Const Thomas Mogadime, communication officer of Bethal SAPS, said: “On behalf of the station management, I would like to thank the members of the Secunda Flying Squad for their hard work and dedication.”

The suspect will appear in the Bethal Magistrate’s Court on charges of possession of dagga.
