Charl Cilliers constable and co-accused’s cases postponed for further investigation

Const Phungwayo and co-accused’s case postponed again.

The case of Const Smangaliso Phungwayo and three co-accused has been postponed to 3 October pending further investigation.

It will be heard in the Regional Court in Standerton.

The suspects were arrested on 24 June and charged with armed robbery after allegedly holding up a Super Sure Bakery.

They were granted bail of R3 000 in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court on 18 July.

The suspects first appeared in court on 26 June and the case was postponed to 17 August.

No shots were fired and no injuries reported.

Const Phungwayo is in service at the Charl Cilliers Police Station and an internal investigation is underway.
