Kingfisher caught in the act

Mr Nick Mathios caught this Pied Kingfisher in the act as he snapped this once-in-a-lifetime image of the masterful little bird scooping up his lunch in the Pilansberg Nature Reserve.

The image was taken by Mr Mathios earlier in the month at the Mankwe Dam in the reserve and is part of a series of four images, which are available on the Ridge Times Facebook page.
