Two suspects, aged 19 and 20, were arrested on Sunday, 27 August for possession of suspected stolen property.
They were found with a cell phone without a battery, safety boots and a tracksuit for which they could not account for.
They were arrested at home in Extension 10 in Marikana Section after the police received a complaint of abduction.
According to information, 14 taxi passengers on their way home from work were robbed of their belongings at gun point by two people wearing Lesotho national blankets.
They demanded everything the passengers had on them.
While they were searching the passengers, they instructed a 32-year-old woman to wait for them outside a nearby shack.
She however saw an opportunity to escape and hid under a car that was parked nearby.
When she realised it was safe, she reported the incident to the police.
The other passengers reported her abduction to the police who immediately searched the area and arrested the suspects.
One of the victims is receiving hospital treatment.
The suspects will appear in Evander Magistrate’s Court soon.
