[GALLERY] Langamed South Ambulance Services say there’s a steep increase in accidents

Eleven road accidents reported thus far for the weekend.

HIGHVELD – Langamed South Ambulance Services have already reported 11 accidents this weekend.

“The weekend so far has shown a steep increase in vehicle accidents.

“People are advised to take extra caution while on the road,” said a healthcare professional from Langamed South Ambulance Services.

Here are some of the accidents which they attended to.

  • A man sustained moderate injuries after the vehicle he was travelling in, overturned near Kriel on Saturday night. He was taken to hospital for further care.
  • A motorcyclist sustained moderate injuries when his bike was hit by a car in eMbalenhle on Saturday night. He was taken to a local hospital. The cause of the collision is still unclear and will be investigated.
  • A driver lost control of his vehicle Saturday morning at about 3am and drove through a fence in Lanzarac Street in Secunda. No injuries were reported.
  • Six women sustained moderate to serious injuries early Saturday morning after the vehicle they were travelling in, overturned in Walter Sisulu Drive.  They were all treated on the scene by Langamed South Ambulance Services and taken to hospital. The cause of the accident is still unknown and will be investigated.
  • A man sustained minor injuries after the vehicle he was travelling in, collided with another vehicle near Walker Park Golf Club in Evander on Friday night. His vehicle overturned after the impact.  The occupants of the other vehicle escaped injuries.
