Police urged motorists to avoid parking their cars in isolated places, because this increases the chances of their cars being stolen.
Capt Bettinah Zondo, police spokesman, said there is a rapid increase in car theft of especially older models.
She said these crimes happen mostly at the Secunda CBD and at the Secunda Mall.
Capt Zondo warned motorists to not leave personal belongings inside their cars.
