Two eMzinoni learners were arrested for statutory rape after they allegedly had sex with 14- and 15-year-old girls recently.
Police said it is alleged the girls were drinking with the boys and they allegedly decided to sleep.
The girls apparently returned to their homes the next day and the parents decided to open cases against the boys.
The suspects are expected to appear in the Evander Magistrate’s Court soon.
Police called on parents to ensure they know the whereabouts of their children.
“If it happens that the children are out, parents should constantly check on them.
“We are concerned about the increase in rapes and other cases related to young girls.”
In a separate incident, a 15-year-old girl has been reported missing in the same area. Police said the girl was last seen on Friday, 1 September with her friends.
She apparently called her sister and urged her to wash a school uniform for her. Police said they are investigating and urged anyone who might have any information, to go to the police station.
