Locals voice frustations over service delivery with public protector

Locals want public protector to investigate the GMM.

eMZINONI – Locals voiced their frustrations over service delivery in the area with Adv Busisiwe Mkhwebane, public protector, today during the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature’s visit in the area.

They also called on her to investigate Govan Mbeki Municipaliy about various issues, including the high billing system.

This came after Adv Mkhwebane addressed the people’s assembly under the theme Celebrating 20 years of the Constitution.

She encouraged locals to know the Constitution as it will help to ensure that their rights are not abused.

She further talked about the roles and the responsibilities of her office.

Those who had serious cases were registered with the office of the public protector.

The assembly followed an awareness march against violence against women and children led by Ms Thandi Shongwe, speaker of the Provincial Legislature.

The programme is attended by all provincial political leadership and officials.

It continues until Friday.
