A 26-year-old foreign national narrowly escaped death after an attack by four robbers at his work place in Extension 15 in eMbalenhle on Monday, 4 September.
He closed his tuckshop at 9pm and exited through the back door to lock the gate.
He was approached by four men armed with firearms who ordered him to go back into the shop.
They stole R2 500, cigarettes and airtime.
The total value is about R7 000.
The police said before the men left, they fired three shots, wounding the man’s left hand.
He screamed for help and neighbours summoned the police and an ambulance.
No arrests have yet been made and the police are investigating.
