A 32-year-old man was sentenced to 13 years’ imprisonment for robbery with aggravating circumstances.
According to Capt Lizzie Koekemoer of the Violence, Child Abuse and Sexual Offense Unit, a 40-year-old woman and her boyfriend were walking in eMbalanhle when three men approached them and assaulted her boyfriend with a firearm in eMbalenhle.
All three men raped the woman.
The accused was sentenced in the Evander Regional Court.
On count 1, the accused was found not guilty and count 2, also rape, was discharged.
