Too many accidents reported in Secunda over weekend
Emergency services warn motorists not to drink and drive.

SECUNDA – With many parties and events that were taking place in and around town, the weekend yet again saw many accidents between 8pm and 12am yesterday, 30 September.
“I saw people drinking the whole day and then getting behind the steering wheel,” said a resident.
“Many with their friends or family.
“A friend of ours lost his friend due to drunk driving.
“It is horrific and people should really start to take it serious and realise what the consequences could be.”
- Two young men escaped serious injuries when their vehicle got stuck on a rocky circle island. It is believed the car went straight over the circle.
- Another motorist lost control and ended up in an embankment in PDP Kruger Street close to Lake Umuzi. No one was seriously injured.
- Nobody was transported to hospital after an accident between Graceland and eMbalenhle.
- A patient was transported to Evander Hospital by ER24 after an accident at the Brendan Village turn off.

Emergency services urged people not to drink and drive and to stay safe.
