First protest against power cuts on its way in eMba

Protester are blocking roads at Mall at eMba.

eMBALENHLE – Mall at eMba and other shops are closed because of a protest that began an hour ago.

The protesters are walking around the block and are blocking and barricading roads.

Reliable sources told the newspaper the protest is about the Eskom bulk power interruptions due to the municipal debt to Eskom.

A meeting was held at eMbalenhle Stadium this morning about services delivery, especially electricity cuts in the Govan Mbeki Municipality.

They complained about their electrical appliances being damaged by the power cuts.

The group left the stadium in a frenzy and started blocking roads and burning tyres.

The group want to involve all sectors and requested the taxi association to join to create a total shut down of transport and also want them to prevent buses from transporting people.
